I had the opportunity to speak with Jared Burnett, an Indian Motorcycle Brand Ambassador. Jared is a very interesting character, coming from a background very similar to my own and is living a life he loves and has a passion for. Here are some of the questions I asked and his responses to them.

What exactly is an Indian Motorcycle Brand Ambassador?

"An Indian Motorcycle Brand Ambassador is a selected  few riders from around the country that are in a  position to share their experiences and enthusiasm for Indian Motorcycle with other riders in their area and on social media. We all share a common joy of the experience Indian Motorcycle has brought to our lives, and take the opportunity to share our story with others around us via in person events, coordinated rides, or just interactions with riders at any given moment."

What motorcycles have you had in the past and what motorcycles do you plan for the future?

"Currently ride a 2019 Springfield Dark Horse & 2019 Chieftain Dark Horse with intentions to add a new  Challenger Dark Horse to the garage soon!"

What other interests do you have besides motorcycles?

"I am a professional violinist that has toured all over the world performing music.  Also I enjoy a good workout and training session in the gym to keep a healthy active lifestyle."

Wait, you play violin? Can you tell us a little about that  and making it a career?

"I began at the age of 3 with private lessons, and progressed to arts schools growing up. At the age of 18 moved to Orlando, Florida to pursue it full time.  Landing contracts at the major theme parks started my career, and from there was recruited by a Cirque Du Soleil company to begin touring internationally. It’s been my full time job my entire adult life. Now I primarily focus on private parties and corporate events where I still get to travel, just not for extended amounts of time. I consider myself very fortunate that a few thousand people stand up and clap at the end of my work day."

Who are some of the people that inspire you to chase after your dreams of music and motorcycles?

"The trendsetters of violin like Jean Luc Ponty, Charlie Daniels and Boyd Tinsley really showed me that I could do something different with the violin. Paralleling that was my exposure to the iconic branding of Indian Motorcycle.  I’ve always had a unique style to how I play and live, and recognizing that same styling and brand was so appealing to me of Indian Motorcycle."

For our newer and younger readers, what is some advise you can give them?

"Riding advise I would say: to truly find the escape that riding provides to you.  Cherish that outlet.  A funny phrase that’s stuck with me is that “you’ll never see a motorcycle at a therapists office”.  There’s a reason for that.  I found that having an outlet like riding gave me the moments to escape and joy that I wanted to add to my life. It was the perfect fit for me to ride."

Anything else you would like to add?

"When looking for a new motorcycle, take your time in finding the right one for you.  Going into riding, I thought I wanted a scout bobber, but I took a few other bikes out to realize the Springfield Dark Horse was a better fit for me.  The experience of finding a motorcycle for you can be so enjoyable.  Cherish that process. Indian Motorcycle dealerships are full of knowledge and experience to get the perfect fit for you."
